This edition of the Sketching Series comes to Utsav, The Square, GMR Aerocity in collaboration with India Experience, inviting participants to explore portrait drawing through close observation and attentive looking.
Centred on the study of the human face, the session explores facial structure, proportion, expression, and character through guided sketch-based exercises. Participants will examine how subtle variations in line, form, and gesture can communicate individuality, emotion, and presence, while developing an understanding of portraiture as both observation and interpretation.
Through practical drawing exercises, the workshop introduces approaches to capturing facial features, proportions, and the expressive qualities that make each face unique. Moving between technical study and personal response, the session encourages participants to look closely, draw intuitively, and deepen their engagement with portrait sketching.
