This edition of the Sketching Series comes to Utsav, The Square, GMR Aerocity in collaboration with India Experience, inviting participants to explore the visual and expressive possibilities of letterforms through calligraphic practice.

Centred on rhythm, movement, spacing, and stroke, the session introduces participants to the fundamentals of calligraphy while exploring how written forms can become visual compositions. Through guided exercises, participants will experiment with line quality, balance, structure, and flow, developing an understanding of how letters communicate beyond language through gesture and form.

Balancing technical learning with creative exploration, the workshop encourages participants to engage with the meditative qualities of calligraphy while discovering their own approach to mark-making and visual expression. The session offers an opportunity to explore the relationship between writing, drawing, and design through careful observation and practice.

Lalit Kumar Mourya is a visual designer, illustrator, and calligraphy artist with over a decade of experience across design, advertising, and visual communication. His practice explores the rhythm, movement, and structure of letterforms, combining traditional calligraphic techniques with contemporary visual expression through typography, illustration, and handcrafted lettering.
