TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight FEATURED EVENTS

Restless Lines is a Saturday Family Workshop where children and adults explore expressive line-making together through movement, pressure, and mark-making. Drawing from TYEB MEHTA’s practice, where lines often function as structural forces within a composition, the session invites participants to rethink drawing as a physical and responsive act.

Participants work with handmade thread brushes, allowing the instability of the tool to shape the outcome. As lines shift, break, and reform, they observe how variations in pressure, rhythm, and movement influence the image, revealing how even a single line can carry balance, disruption, and continuity.

The workshop also encourages reflection on how experiences of tension, release, and resilience can be translated into visual form. Through this process, drawing becomes a space to explore how marks can hold memory, movement, and meaning.

Designed for children and adults, the session offers an open and experimental environment to engage with drawing beyond precision, focusing on process, awareness, and expression.
