This summer at the Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, children are invited into a space of movement, imagination, and creative exploration. The Dancing Museum brings together dance, storytelling, rhythm, and engagement with artworks, encouraging participants to discover how the body can become a medium for expression.
Through guided sessions, children explore elements of ballet, contemporary dance, Bharatanatyam, and creative movement, developing physical awareness, coordination, rhythm, and confidence. The workshop emphasises exploration over perfection, allowing each child to respond to movement in their own way while building a deeper connection to art and self-expression.
Set within the museum environment, the programme also encourages children to engage with artworks as sources of inspiration, translating visual ideas into movement, gesture, and narrative. In doing so, the workshop creates a space where imagination, observation, and physical expression come together.
In a time shaped by increasing screen engagement, This workshop offers an alternative: a space for children to move freely, connect with others, and experience the arts in an active and embodied way.
By the end of the workshop, participants leave with enhanced confidence, creativity, and a stronger sense of their own expressive potential.
