KNMA in the Park is an invitation to the people of Delhi to enjoy a cultural evening in a laid-back outdoor atmosphere in the company of their family and friends. For the second edition, the evening opened with singer-songwriter Mansa Jimmy’s sensational renditions of Retro, Bollywood and Sufi songs, accompanied by esraj artist Arshad Khan.
The headliner act ‘BeatRoute’, a percussion ensemble production conceived by Roysten Abel and Ranjit Barot, mesmerised the audience with its unique soundscape of traditional folk rhythms, contemporary electronic music and Barot’s masterful drumming. A diverse array of instruments—from the resonant mizhavu and vibrant chenda to eclectic desert instruments like the dhol, nagara, khartal, bhapang, and morchang—was accompanied by evocative visuals that contrasted Rajasthan’s arid deserts with Kerala’s lush greenery.
