TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight FEATURED EVENTS

KNMA Matinee 2026 is a curated film programme inspired by the key thematic concerns of the exhibition TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight (with the lightness of being), including precarity, intensity, gravity, duality, tactility, tenacity, mythology, and community.

The programme opens with a special screening of TYEB MEHTA’s directorial debut Koodal (1970), presented as a keystone work alongside an after-hours feature. This is followed by a series of weekly Saturday screenings, where a curated selection of films offers expanded perspectives on the ideas and contexts surrounding MEHTA’s practice.

Through cinema, KNMA Matinee creates a parallel space of engagement, inviting viewers to explore how moving image can echo, extend, and reinterpret artistic concerns across mediums.
