TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight FEATURED EVENT
This Artist in Me workshop examines how objects can carry traces of lived experience, memory, and transformation. Drawing from Tyeb Mehta’s ability to distil emotional intensity into minimal visual forms, the session explores sculpture as a space where material and meaning intersect.
Working with found and discarded objects, participants will experiment with assemblage, layering, gesture, and spatial relationships to create forms shaped by personal reflection and observation. The workshop encourages participants to think through making, exploring how everyday materials can shift in meaning and become vessels for emotion, memory, and narrative.
Through sculptural experimentation and collective reflection, the session creates an open space for engaging with materiality, transformation, and process-driven making.
