Exploring abstraction through limited colours to create mood, tension, and movement inspired by Tyeb Mehta.

TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight FEATURED EVENTS

Inspired by the visual language of Tyeb Mehta, this workshop explores how a limited colour palette can create strong emotional and visual impact. His paintings demonstrate how bold colours and sharply defined forms generate intensity, rhythm, and tension within a composition.

In this session, participants will create abstract compositions using two or three colours. Through cutting or painting geometric shapes and arranging them in dynamic ways, they will experiment with tonal variation, spatial balance, and the interaction between form and colour. The process encourages careful observation of how minimal visual elements shape meaning and atmosphere.

Designed for children and adults to create together, the workshop offers an accessible introduction to abstraction while encouraging experimentation with colour, composition, and visual balance.
