TYEB MEHTA Bearing Weight FEATURED EVENTS

As the centenary retrospective TYEB MEHTA: Bearing Weight (with the lightness of being) reaches its final day, join us for an evening celebrating Tyeb Mehta’s birth anniversary and reflecting on an exhibition that has brought together six decades of his extraordinary artistic practice.

The evening will feature the first public unveiling of an in-depth KNMA publication dedicated to Tyeb Mehta’s practice, ideas, and enduring contribution to Indian modern art, offering new perspectives on one of the country’s most influential artists.

Following the launch, the Tyeb Mehta Foundation will present a special lecture as part of its Conversations with Chai series, featuring renowned art critic and curator Geeta Kapur, who will reflect on Mehta’s radical artistic vision and the ways it transformed the language of Indian modernism.

Bringing together the conclusion of the exhibition and the launch of this significant publication, the evening offers an opportunity to celebrate Tyeb Mehta’s enduring artistic legacy.
